J1 Visa: Practices in underserved areas of New Hampshire are welcoming to physicians needing waivers, especially those physicians who
have ties to the area. It is important for physicians who practice in New Hampshire to understand that New Hampshire enjoys four distinct
seasons with the accompanying extremes of temperature and that most of the state is considered rural. Physicians who are granted J1 visa
waivers are required to practice in an underserved area for a period of three years. New Hampshire considers waivers for all specialties that
provide direct patient care, based on community need and shortage designation.
